Chain, chain, chain--chain of love!

I am currently serving as treasurer of the county-wide retired teachers association and we have our first meeting of the 09-10 year the first week of September. SO, in an effort to have everything ready in case of "baby Claire time", I have been getting all my reports in order and preparing the treasurer's report for the meeting. As reports rolled out of the printer, I started searching for paperclips---what happened to all my paperclips???
I know I had at least 5 boxes just the other day...no wait...I got them down from my supply closet while Ben was here...hmm...Ben...OH YAH...now I remember, he needed some for his "work"...and then he said he was making me a "lovely chain"--shoot, where would he have put them--surely not ALL 5 BOXES!!??
He usually "worked" in the spare bedroom. Looking around...not on the bed...or the bookshelf...or the desk...or the nightstand...BINGO! UNDER the bed.
Yep...a lovely chain...5 boxes of paperclips long!

After taking a considerable amount of time disconnecting the lovely chain (how long did that kid spend on this???), I finally decided to curl the remainder in a cup and place on my desk for use one clip at a time.
And so, now each time I stop to free a paperclip I am reminded once more of my sweet boy and his "lovely" chain, chain, chain...chain of love!

  1. That's so cool. It's actually a great way to dispense your paperclips. Go Ben!

  2. That child is patient & diligent - that's for sure. I wonder why he didn't "present" his lovely gift to you. Maybe he was off on another project & forgot about it.
